Metso:Outotec’s ST2.3 mobile screen provides efficiency and versatility in a small package
Recently MIMICO, the New Zealand distributor of Metso:Outotec range of crushers and screens, delivered Awakeri Drainage’s second Lokotrack ST2.3 mobile screen. Based in Hawkes Bay, Awakeri Drainage is a family-owned business and specialises in drainage, landscaping, earthworks, and aggregate supply services.
The ST2.3 mobile screens will be used on job sites and used for all materials such as rock, soil, mulch, and recycling. The company also has a Lokotrack LT96 jaw, a Nordtrack I908S impactor and an IMS SW348 screen, all supplied from MIMICO.
Operations manager, Jarvis Bishop, is pleased with the output and reliability of the ST2.3 and described the machine as heavily operator focused. “It doesn’t compare to any other machine I’ve used before.” Jarvis is a third generation Bishop and the family has over 50 years’ experience in the industry.
Jarvis also noted how the ST2.3 is engineered for multi-use and can be used to screen and scalp blasted rock, sand and gravel, recycled concrete and top soil. “This makes it ideal for the production of construction and landscaping materials,” he explained.
In addition Graham, one of Awakeri Drainage’s operators, who has worked in the Western Australian mines using other equipment, described the Metso:Outotec machines as efficient and much easier to use.

The Metso Lokotrack ST range of track-mounted screening plants provides multiple options, depending on produced material, production volume, site characteristics and location. The Lokotrack ST2.3 is the newest multi-use scalping screen in the ST range. ST2.3 is the most compact mobile screen for primary scalping. With its aggressive stroke (up to 13mm), wide screen (1.5m) and adjustable screen angle it is ideal for general contractors with various materials to process such as topsoil, compost, recycled materials, crushed rock, sand, and gravel.
